You asked for it, so here it is — the head-to-head comparison between the Staccato CS and the Staccato HD C3.6. Both were loaners, both went back, and as always, you’re getting my honest, no-BS take.
Both pistols are purpose-built compact 2011s meant for real-world carry and performance. The Staccato CS runs a 3.5-inch bull barrel on a 7075 aluminum frame, holding 15+1 with an overall weight of 27.6 ounces (optic installed). The HD C3.6, meanwhile, features a 3.6-inch bull barrel, an external extractor, ambidextrous controls, the HOST optic system, and a mechanical firing-pin block — giving it extra drop-safety assurance for those who carry daily.
At the range, both guns perform like top-tier Staccatos should — flat recoil, crisp triggers, and superb accuracy at 15 and 25 yards. The CS feels a touch softer and faster from target to target, while the HD C3.6 cycles smoother and feels more refined during sustained fire.
The biggest real-world differences? The HD C3.6 accepts standard Glock 19-pattern mags, includes that mechanical firing-pin block, and comes in around 200 Scooby Snacks cheaper. The CS offers better hand purchase and a slightly slimmer profile, but with a grip safety and potentially proprietary mags that may limit interchangeability.
If you carry every day, that firing-pin block and mag compatibility might tip the scales toward the C3.6. But if you want a soft-shooting compact that feels like a duty pistol, the CS is still hard to beat.
