Sharps Bros Taurus GX4 Grip Mod Installation

What’s going on folks, RazorMP here.

Today I’m going to walk you through installing the Sharps Bros grip module on a Taurus GX4 Carry. We’re going to do this step-by-step, nice and clean, so you can follow along without guessing.

Step one, remove the magazine. Press the mag release, pull the magazine out, and set it aside.

Step two, clear the pistol. Rack the slide to the rear and lock it open and inspect the chamber and the magazine well. Look into the chamber, look into the magwell, then check it again to confirm it’s empty.

Now we’ll remove the slide.

Bring the slide forward under control if it’s locked back. Rotate the takedown pin to the disassembly position per standard GX4 procedure so the slide can come off.

Once the takedown is in the disassembly position, separate the slide from the frame and set the slide assembly aside.

Now we’re moving to the frame and the grip module swap.

From inside the frame, push back on the slide catch spring. You’re pushing it back to remove pressure from the takedown pin.

While holding that spring back, push the takedown pin to the right and remove it from the frame.

With the takedown pin removed, lift the frame assembly out of the grip module. Lift trigger end first. Go slow here, because that slide catch spring is under pressure.

As you lift the chassis out, the slide catch may fall off. That’s fine. Set the slide catch aside and keep track of how it was oriented.

Now place the original grip module to the side.

Grab your Sharps Bros grip module and set it on the bench. Drop the frame assembly into the Sharps module, starting with the rear of the frame assembly, then the trigger end so it seats cleanly, lower the rest down into place. Make sure everything is aligned and fully seated.

Reinstall the slide catch if it came off. Then position the slide catch spring correctly.

Press back on the slide catch spring again from inside the frame to take tension off the takedown pin channel. With the spring held back, reinstall the takedown pin from the right side back into the frame and push it through until it’s fully seated. Once the pin is in, release the spring and confirm it’s seated correctly.

Now reinstall the slide.

Line the slide up with the frame rails and run it rearward onto the frame. Lock the slide open, then rotate the takedown pin back to the normal locked position.

Cycle the slide a few times to confirm everything is moving smoothly, confirm the slide catch works, and you’re done. Thanks for watching, As always….Ill see you on the high ground or the next video, RazorMP Out
