Sharp Bros Grip Module for the Springfield Armory Echelon

Sharps Bros Aluminum Grip Module for the Springfield Armory Echelon: billet muscle, better balance

Today I’m taking a look at the Sharps Bros aluminum grip module for the Springfield Armory Echelon — a billet-machined upgrade that completely changes the look, feel, and balance of the pistol.

This grip module is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum and finished in Sharps Bros’ Midnight Bronze Cerakote, paired with black anodized aluminum grip panels. It’s a direct replacement for the factory Echelon grip module and drops right in without touching the fire control group. If you appreciate solid materials and clean machining, this one checks a lot of boxes.

First impressions: the Echelon suddenly looks “finished”

I installed this grip on my Echelon 4.0C Comp, and visually it just works. The extended dust cover running out to the end of the barrel gives the gun a more purpose-built look — like it was designed this way from the start instead of upgraded after the fact.

Weight and balance: more settled, less snappy

The added weight up front helps the pistol settle during recoil, and the balance is noticeably improved without turning the gun into a boat anchor. You’re not magically deleting recoil (sorry, physics), but the gun feels calmer and more planted in the hand.

Ergonomics: duty-grade without being obnoxious

Ergonomics are where this grip really stands out. The grip angle feels more natural, the texture is aggressive without being ridiculous, and the overall feel is more “duty-grade” than polymer. It also highlights just how modular the Echelon platform is — being able to swap grip modules while keeping the serialized fire control group intact is still one of the most underrated features in the striker-fired market.

A quick note on safety and intent

This write-up is educational and focused on evaluation — fit, finish, ergonomics, and performance observations. No instructions on manufacturing or modifying firearms.

Final thoughts

If you’ve been sleeping on the Springfield Echelon as a platform, upgrades like this make a strong case for taking another look. Drop your thoughts in the comments and let me know if you’d run this grip or stick with polymer.
