Training with Purpose at Parabellum AZ
A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to visit Parabellum AZ, a private training facility just outside of Kingman, Arizona. This isn’t your typical public range—it’s a purpose-built training environment designed for shooters who want to level up their skills, whether that’s in competition, self-defense, or just refining the fundamentals.
The range is owned and operated by Tim Melendez, a longtime friend and someone who’s truly passionate about building a community around real-world firearms training. Tim gave me the full tour of the facility, and it’s clear he put a lot of thought into how everything was laid out. Each bay is designed for a specific purpose, from close-quarters pistol work to extended-range rifle shooting.
What stood out to me most was the range’s flexibility. It’s not a static environment—there’s room to move, run drills, shoot on steel, transition through barricades, and test gear in more realistic scenarios. For anyone serious about improving their shooting ability, that kind of freedom is a game-changer.
Parabellum AZ also has a strong community aspect. Tim regularly hosts outlaw-style 2-gun matches, carbine shoots, and other events that are more about skill-building and camaraderie than chasing trophies. It’s a place where shooters can push themselves, learn from one another, and get better every time they hit the line.
If you’re in or around northern Arizona and looking for a range that supports real training—not just punching paper—Parabellum AZ is worth your time. It’s not just a place to shoot. It’s a place to grow.
