GOWUTAR HHC17C – A Feature-Packed RMSc Red Dot That Punches Above Its Price

When it comes to red dot sights for RMSc-cut pistols, the market is flooded with options — but few manage to pack in as many features as the GOWUTAR HHC17C without a hefty price tag. Designed for compact and subcompact firearms like the Springfield Armory Hellcat Pro Comp, the HHC17C delivers surprising value in a sub-$120 optic.

Built for Practical Performance

The HHC17C was sent out to me by GOWUTAR for testing, and I mounted it directly to my Hellcat Pro Comp to see how it held up in real-world use. It’s a true RMSc footprint optic and fits flush without the need for modification. Right out of the box, the HHC17C includes everything you need: multiple screw sets, tools, a CR1632 battery, protective cover, cleaning cloth, and even a low-profile Picatinny rail adapter — giving you flexibility for mounting on other platforms.

Key Features That Matter

What sets the HHC17C apart is its multi-reticle system. With a simple hold of the “up” button, you can toggle between a 3 MOA red dot, a 46 MOA circle, or a combined circle-and-dot reticle — giving shooters the ability to fine-tune their sight picture depending on the scenario.

The optic also includes:

  • Shake Awake technology that turns the sight off after 4 minutes of inactivity and powers back on with the slightest motion.
  • A side-loading battery tray, which allows you to replace the CR1632 battery without removing the optic or re-zeroing.
  • 10 brightness levels — 8 for daylight and 2 that are night vision compatible.
  • A rugged 6061 aluminum housing that’s waterproof (IPX7 rated), shockproof (up to 1500Gs), and weighs just 0.88 ounces.

Hands-On Impressions

After several range sessions and dry fire reps, I’m genuinely impressed with the clarity of the reticle, the brightness adjustment range, and how well the shake-awake performed. The dot stayed consistent, and I appreciated the crisp click adjustments when zeroing.

While the built-in rear sight notch is a nice touch, it may require a taller front sight for a proper co-witness setup, depending on your pistol.

Final Thoughts

For a sub-$120 red dot with multi-reticle functionality, side battery access, and solid durability, the GOWUTAR HHC17C is one of the best values I’ve seen in the RMSc category. Whether you're building out a concealed carry pistol or want to add a red dot to your EDC setup without draining your wallet, this optic deserves serious consideration.
