Installation walk-through and first-look notes for the Sharp Bros Taurus grip module setup.
What's going on folks, RazorMP here.
Today we are talking about the Sharps Bros grip module for the Taurus GX4 Carry, and specifically why this kind of swap makes sense if you like the GX4's size and shootability, but you have always felt the factory frame was a little basic rental counter in the hands.
This is not a paid ad, and this is not a sales pitch. This is a practical breakdown of what the Sharps Bros module brings to the table, what it changes, and who it is actually for.
The Taurus GX4 Carry is one of those pistols that punches above its weight class for the money. It is compact, easy to carry, and it can run. But the grip is where you interface with the gun, and if that interface is not doing you favors, you end up working harder than you need to, especially under speed, recoil, or sweaty conditions.
A grip module swap is basically saying: I like the gun, I just want it to fit me better, track flatter, and lock into my hands more consistently.
The big upgrade here is how the grip locks into your hand. Sharps Bros tends to build modules that feel more purpose-built than factory polymer. You get more defined surfaces, more consistent indexing, and a grip shape that encourages repeatable hand placement.
That means you are not constantly re-gripping between strings, and you are not fighting the gun during recoil.
A lot of factory grips land in the safe for everyone zone, which usually translates to not aggressive enough for anyone who actually trains. Sharps Bros typically brings more bite, and that matters when you are shooting faster than slow-fire bench pace.
If you have ever felt your support hand start to slide around during a longer range session, you already understand the value here.
This is where these modules usually win: subtle shaping that supports a higher, more stable grip and gives your hands better mechanical leverage. Even small differences in undercut, contouring, and side panels can help you drive the gun more efficiently.
No upgrade is magic, and grip modules are not exempt.
This module makes the most sense if you:
The Sharps Bros Taurus GX4 grip module is one of those upgrades that does not need a bunch of hype to justify itself. If you like the GX4 platform but want more control, better hand fit, and a grip that stays put when you start pushing the pace, this is exactly the kind of swap that can make the gun feel like it leveled up.
Same pistol. Better connection to it. And that is where performance actually starts.
As always, stay safe, train smart, and I will see you on the high ground or in the next post. RazorMP out.
